movement arts practise
Vincent Cacialano holds certifications in Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and Yoga Anatomy, and holds Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees with an emphasis in Movement Research.
I conduct research and offer classes in Experiential Anatomy and Yoga. For me Yoga is a spiritual practice, and my teaching addresses the inner and outer body, as well as, the self and is influenced by studying with Arhanta Yoga in the Sivananda tradition. I have maintained an interest in art and body work for decades, and have recently completed a certification in dissection-based anatomy for movement with Julian Baker (2023). I am also interested in the relationship of Body Theory, Cultural and Socio-Political Theory and Practise; bringing together theoretical perspectives for safe practise, and contextualising art and pedagogy.
Recently, I have been a visiting artist and professor at Tulane University and Dancing Grounds in New Orleans, Arizona State University, Movement Arts Gloucester, Mass., Improvisation Amsterdam, Amsterdam, Netherlands, East of England Movement and Yoga, and Dance East in Suffolk, UK. (17-24). I am an advisor for Movement Arts Gloucester, Mass., and have been an advisor for choreographer Iris Van Peppen, and dramaturge for performance artist MX Oops' Unfinished Animal (2017-24)..
